It was in 2003 that Kellogg’s Eggo first released Froot Loops Waffles. The cereal-inspired bite took two classic breakfast dishes and combined them into one. While they were only around for a short time, it looks like they’re returning to freezer aisles very, very soon.
Both the official Eggo and Froot Loops Instagram accounts teased the rerelease with two photos featuring an updated box design. If the Eggo Froot Loops Waffles are anything like they were when they originally launched, then we can expect frozen waffles with colorful bits of Froot Loops cereal pieces and flavor.
“Hey @eggo_us, think it’s time to bring back the Froot Loops Eggo waffles?” the @frootloops Instagram account wrote in the caption. “@frootloops it would be loopy to *not* bring back Froot Loops Eggo waffles…right?” @eggo_us wrote in its Instagram caption.
It looks like two of our favorite breakfast carbs are combining forces, yet again, to create the kind of bite we all deserve first thing in the morning. Especially with the cereal’s fruity flavor, this is the kind of addition we all need for spring or summer.
