One of the worst things a snack brand can do is deliver an A+ flavor or variety, but only for a limited time. There’s always a chance that customers will fall in love with it and be heartbroken when it disappears from shelves. That’s what happened with Kellogg’s Pop-Tarts Frosted Grape pastries, but the brand is making it right by bringing them back.
The nostalgic flavor, which will especially connect with ’90s kids, consists of pastries filled with grape jelly-flavored filling, and topped with white icing and purple crunch. They look similar to Pop-Tarts’ Frosted Strawberry, Frosted Blueberry, and Frosted Raspberry varieties, but, you know, in Frosted Grape.
You won’t have to wait long to get your hands on the Pop-Tarts Frosted Grape flavor (again)! The eight-count box will be rolling out in Walmart stores in April 2022 and expand to more retailers nationwide in May 2022. Each box will have a suggested retail price of $3.19.
“At Pop-Tarts, we know what our fans want. Frosted Grape has been among the top flavors fans have been asking us to bring back,” Heidi Ray, senior director of marketing, portable wholesome snacks, said in a press release. “So, we could not be more stoked to finally bring back this Pop-Tarts G.O.A.T. — Grape-ist Of All Time.”
To make the comeback a little sweeter, Pop-Tarts will be giving away a year’s supply of the pastries and a “Y2Grape Time Capsule” full of Y2K-era goodies to the first 50 fans who share their Frosted Grape look on Instagram using #Y2GrapeEntry. Time to throw some purple temporary spray in your hair, put on a violet wig, or clip in a mauve hair extension!
