The moment you’ve been waiting, hoping, and wishing for is finally here! Taco Bell has heard your cries about returning a certain item to its menu — and no, we’re not talking about Nacho Fries, although those have recently returned as well. The Mexican fast food restaurant is welcoming the Mexican Pizza back next month!
Rumors started swirling recently that Taco Bell’s Mexican Pizza would be making a comeback, which is a bigger deal than you might event realize. Over 171,000 people signed a Change.org petition, created by Krish Jagirdar, in hopes it would convince the chain to make their dreams comes true. Consider Taco Bell to be our Fairy Godmother.
The Mexican Pizza is made up of two crispy flour shells that’s layered with beans, pizza sauce, seasoned beef, tomatoes, and a melted three-cheese blend. You can also order it vegetarian so that it comes without the beef. The offering is available for $4.49, or you can make it a combo, which also includes two Crunchy Tacos and a Large Fountain Drink, for $8.99.
Loyalty members will get early access on the Mexican Pizza beginning on May 17. Everyone else can order it exclusively through DoorDash for the first week (May 19 to 26) before it’s rolled out to other delivery platforms starting on May 27. DashPass members can get $2 off with a minimum subtotal of $12 by using the promo code MEXPIZZA. Customers in Aruba, Costa Rica, and the Dominican Republic can also get the menu item beginning on May 19.
“Our menu is full of fan favorites, but the Mexican Pizza is at the top of that list,” Mark King, CEO of Taco Bell, said in a press release. “From its flashy introduction to menus in 1985 as ‘Pizzazz Pizza’ to its inspiration behind the creation of infamous jingles, Mexican Pizza has a long history with the brand and I’m glad we could give fans what they crave and bring our classic Mexican Pizza back home where it belongs.”
