On Trial: Weezie Women’s Short Robe
Tester: Caitlyn Fitzpatrick, who likes to dress cozy, but hates being hot
The Brief: If I had to choose between winter or summer, I’d instantly go with winter, mainly because I absolutely hate being hot. I love lounging around in comfy sweatshirts and fuzzy socks, which aren’t exactly summer-friendly. That’s why I’ve been living in my Weezie Women’s Short Robe. It’s cozy, but also lightweight — so it doesn’t add to the cause of sweating all season.
Weezie is known for its luxury bath towels and beach towels that are made with 100% long-staple cotton. It was just last year that the brand introduced robes to its portfolio, and you could say that I’m a bit obsessed with the Women’s Short Robe.
The summer-friendly robe was launched last year at the same time as the Women’s Long Robe, which features long sleeves and fabric that goes down to the calves. The short version is better for warmer weather since it doesn’t have a collar like the long one. It also has cropped sleeves and a shortened hem. Oh, and both styles have pockets (because we all know how important that is).
You can get the Weezie Short Robe in extra-small, small, medium, large, and extra-large sizes. I went up a size from my usual, since I like the oversized cozy feel, and I’m happy that I did. The extra room allows it to drape rather than cling. Plus, how can you properly lounge with restrictive fabric? The robe is hypoallergenic and made of 100% organic long-staple cotton that almost makes it feel like you’re wearing a soft towel.
One of the cool things about robes is that you can personalize them to make them your own. This robe comes in white, as well as white with light blue, gray, or navy piping. There are also four blue patterns, including Parker Blue, Parker White, Tullie, and Gigi. You also have the option of adding embroidery for $15. That includes up to six letters, so you can choose your initials or even words, such as "bride" for a custom touch to the big day.
Since we’re all working from home for the foreseeable future, you might want to join me by hopping on the robe train. Whether I wear it by itself or over my pajamas, I’m glad I discovered a way to be cozy in the summertime. Just beware that your family might want to steal it from you. Yeah, it’s that cozy.
The Conclusion: I’m not the biggest fan of summer, but even if you are, no one likes feeling hot and uncomfortable. So instead of throwing on a T-shirt and shorts, lounge around the house in a simple robe that you won’t want to take off. Trust me, it’s a rough couple hours when it winds up in the laundry.
